Our teams design, produce and market a complete range of inertial sensors based on state-of-the-art MEMS technology, such as inertial measurement units (IMUs), attitude and heading reference systems (AHRSs) and inertial navigation systems with integrated GPS/GNSS (INS/GNSS).

We address a wide range of markets, including autonomous vehicles, drones, marine, geomatics, aeronautics, space and defense.

With over 100 employees and sustained growth in France and abroad, SBG Systems exports 90% of its production to over 70 countries worldwide.

Votre mission

As part of our rapid expansion, we are looking for a Head of Defense – Americas to support our continued growth in the defense sector (especially UAVs and ammunition).

Reporting directly to the Managing Director North America, you will be responsible for developing and executing SBG Systems’ defense market strategy across North and South America, with a primary focus on the United States.

You will lead business development efforts, identify and pursue strategic programs, and build long-term relationships with key defense stakeholders. This is a high-impact, ground-up role requiring a balance of strategic vision, market analysis, and hands-on sales execution. You will be part of a team of 4 people.

Your Principal Missions:

Strategic Development

  • Define and implement a go-to-market strategy for defense customers in the Americas.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning.

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of defense programs and partnerships.

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive direct sales and manage accounts across the defense sector.

  • Lead bid development and proposal efforts in collaboration with technical and support teams.

  • Represent SBG Systems at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.

Customer Engagement

  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers in the DoD and allied defense organizations.

  • Act as the voice of the customer internally to influence product development and support.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the US team, sales director / CEO, product management, and engineering teams to align strategy and execution.

  • Coordinate with global sales, marketing, and business development teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding.

Le profil idéal

  • You have 10+ years of experience in defense sales, business development, or program management.

  • Proven track record of success in developing defense markets and closing complex deals.

  • Deep understanding of the U.S. defense ecosystem (DoD, integrators, primes, etc.).

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across the Americas (and from time to time to our French HQs near Paris).

  • US DoD security clearance or ability to obtain it.

Employment conditions :

  • Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Location: United States (Remote or Santa Ana, CA office)

  • Salary conditions: Competitive, based on experience (220k$ to 280k$ OTE).
